The main functionalities of our database system is to organize the records and details of Puerta Directa. Not only will this organization serve a purpose for the employees, but also for the managers who deal with issues stretching beyond the day-to-day tasks. The previous system was a “pen and paper” method that did not suffice for how much information is needed to maintain the operations of this company. Employees and managers are now fully aware of all the deliveries each employee is responsible for instead of having to ask around or waste time waiting for an assignment. The information is easy to access and easy to edit. Such as tables to provide information on which employee was responsible for which delivery, the current status of each delivery and whether or not it was received by consumer or still in process, and truck details to allow the company to keep track of inspections for each truck.
The forms created in the database provide ways to constantly update records in a neat and organized format instead of crossing things out or having to draw up a new form. Workers can add deliveries and delete whole delivery orders if needed and the same with trucks if one is purchased or one is sold. Also with employees if one is hired and one is fired. Since the status of delivery is also documented, if a customer should ask where their delivery is we have a direct answer for them instead of having a random assignment of truck and employee. This will definitely increase customer satisfaction in feeling more secure with their orders.
